The Cement Boot

The City of Windsor today stuck a woman in wet cement up to the calf. Nefarious, I say. I think it's a warning... This Could Happen To You, Inklings Bookshop. Be Warned. We Bury People Alive. In Cement. And When We Accidentally Collapse the City into the Detroit River, Cement Will Sink...

Luckily, however, I know the City of Windsor, and thus know that due to some Engineering Error the City of Windsor will likely be forced to tear up any cement they lay down, freeing everyone from imprisonment. Apparently newly laid cement is irresistable to City of Windsor steam shovels. It's hard and tar-like surface is, apparently, much akin to toffee.

With all that new cement work going on so close to you I trust that, should I ever get the chance to visit the fair city of Windsor, I shall find your "Hollywood Star" inscribed in the sidewalk out in front of your store, accompanied by handprints and sage witticisms.

Yipes! I hope the City of Windsor has a big legal fund set aside. Their star isn't shining very bright!

I kind of figure the City of Windsor is going to sue me... for defamation of character. But I'll win, because clearly I'm right. :)

And I'm thinking the cement will be filled more with haunted faces peering up out of the murk... sort of like that scene in Lord of the Rings. Down, down to the pretty lights, my little hobbitses...

You are so funny.

I hope you write a book about this. Man vs. the City of Windsor.

Just make sure to keep it away from little children. Too terrifying - it will keep them up all night.

Great; I needed a laugh tonight.

Oh yeah! Dig the word verif: dishmind. How cool is that, seeing the dinner dishes for the last two nights are still in the sink; not even in the dishwasher. Like I'm ever going to be of a dishmind.
