In Memoriam: Peter Falk

Falk was one of my favourites. Not only was he my all-time favourite sleuth, Columbo, he was in one of my favourite movies, The Princess Bride.

Double Genius.

He will be missed.

Totally agreed. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

He will be missed.

He was great. Thomson wrote a nice tribute.

I read someone's comment of "Who's going to read me The Princess Bride now?" with sadness.

He was a an officer and a gentleman. And The Princess Bride is probably the greatest film ever made. I've never experienced any form of entertainment that takes me from pissing my pants laughing to wiping my noise crying in as short a time.

It defines my adolescence, my young adulthood, and my parenthood.

And the best thing about Peter? In spite of all his fame and success, he was an incredible human being, standing up for human rights, animal rights, and justice in general the world over.

You'll be missed, Master Falk. May you rest in peace, sir.

A true classic, gentleman, and artist.

One of my favorite roles of his was when he played himself in "Wings of Desire."

In this scene he speaks with an angel.

This totally takes me back to my childhood and makes me so sad.

What an amazing human being he was.

His sloppy attire and muttering bugged me at first, until I started to understand his approach.

RIP, Peter Falk.
