A Time for Thanks

Hey folks, up here in Canada it's Thanksgiving (who wants to wait until November?), so I just wanted to wish a happy holidays to all. Along with gorging myself on myriads of delectables and stumbling to the couch while muttering "Oh my God how did I eat all that?" I plan on thinking a bit about all the people I've been thankful for on my writing journey. Writing is a solitary pursuit, in many ways, and yet, looking back, you realize the trip has been impacted by so many people.

So my thanks are going out today. And what about you? Any people on your writing journey you're particularly thankful for?

Should be back tomorrow with a regular post. If not, it's because I'm in some sort of roast-duck induced catatonic state.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

October makes more sense for the holiday to me. November seems tooooo cold and too long after the harvest.

I'm grateful for my mom, who praises my writing no matter how awful it is, but can still point out the boring spots. :-)

At the risk of others not understanding why I say this: I'm very grateful to you!

Happy Canadian Turkey Day! I like that you have ambition, even on this day of thanks, at least in the stuffing department. :)

p.s. I'm thankful for whoever invented the internet (for realz) because it allows me to connect with so many great writerly friends (like you!).

Hell no. I've done it all on my own and don't have a soul to thank, thank you very much.

Several. You foremost among them Bryan. And I don't show my appreciation for your thoughtful posts through comments often enough.

I hope all is wel with you since the closing of your store.

Sending you and your growing family best wishes and warm thoughts.

A great Thanksgiving to you and yours.

I am thankful for how my friends and family encourage my writing at every turn. The English Department at ENMU have become my unofficial fan club. I honestly think they have enjoyed my current success more than I have, which is saying quite a bit.

Bryan, know that you are one of the great ones in this blog-o-sphere...and no doubt in life as well.

All the Best,

DougM

I blush! Thanks for the kind comments, everyone. They are definitely appreciated. It's always nice to know you aren't talking out into a void.
